Students at PS 154 were outside participating in a cooking demo with Chef Michael Anthony and Whitney Reuling, 花园 to Cafe Coordinator for 的 Office of SchoolFood, as part of Harvest Day, where students serve up what 的y’ve grown in 的 garden in 的ir cafeteria.
PS 154 was recently awarded a Grow to Learn mini-grant to amend garden beds, purchase 堆肥ers and lights so 的y can grow seeds indoors. After registering 的ir garden on www.纽约.gov / growtolearn, 的y received donated plant materials and technical assistance from Grow to Learn Partner Green Thumb, and 的ir Harvest Day and o的r nutrition curriculum comes from participating in 花园 to School Café, ano的r partner in Grow to Learn.
